Ireland, an unknown period.

The second race of Earth, known in Irish as Thuatha De Danann, also sometimes called the Sons of Oberon, or faerie, landed on the south coast of Eriu, they had come from the land Tir na nog, or the Fairy world.  The De Danann found Eriu already inhabited by the Fir bolg legions, a horde of monsters lead by the Fomorian king, Balor of the Evil Eye, who would not allow the faerie to live on Eriu.  The Thuatha took council, and finally came to a conclusion, they  went to the elf Nuada Hawthorn, one of the Avalon knights, and asked him to become king of the De Danann.  Nuada agreed, he then told the dwarfs to build forgeries and smith armor and weapons of silver, and so the first army of faerie was made.  King Balor mustered together all the legions of the Fir bolg and marched against the Thuatha De Danann on the plains of Ithe.  During the battle, Nuada confronted Balor in single-combat, and after having his right arm chopped off, Nuada drove away his enemy.  After the Battle of Magh Ithe, the elf Cecht Fiacha gave Nuada a silver arm, henceforth he was known as Nuada Argetlam ("Silver hand").  Two years later, in the Second Battle of Magh Ithe, Balor opened his Evil Eye, which slew King Nuada, but Lu, Nuada's shield bearer, took up Nuada's sword and killed King Balor.  After the Second Battle of Magh Ithe, Bres, a half-fomorian, half-elf faerie, made himself king of the De Danann for three years, then Lu and Ollathair overthrew him.  Then Oberon appeared to the faerie and told them to erect a stone, called Lia Fail, on the hill of Tara, and each candidate for High King would place his hand on it and it would choose the rightful king.  The Thuatha did so, and when Lu put his hand on it he was chosen by the Lia Fail to be king of all faerie, so there after, the descendants of Lu were the kings and queens of the De Danann, and from that day on, the faerie renamed Eriu to Inis Fail.

The Planes. From the library of the White Mages. Part 1.

Excerpt from "The Multiverse, the Gods, Magic, and other matters."  By Half Alder the Ascetic:
There are, in the Father God's creation, an infinite amount of planes, but there are five  central worlds; my home plane, Eilendor, or the natural world, Lorria, or the Fairy World, the home of magic and fey, such as elves, eldar, and gnomes, the Shadowmare or Null, a bleak, gloomy world, full of creatures like dyft, og or terror giants, and specters, Therrkgr or the Primeaval Chaos or Limbo, a hellish plane, full of tumbling elements and elementals, djinni, and titans, and the Aether Realm, a starlit haven, home to the gods, anruvali, and dunruvali.
Though I am neither a magician or planeswalker, I have not actually been to any other plane, even on Midsummer, when Lorria and Shadowmare drift so close to Eilendor, the planar walls are smudged out momentarily, I have found several planeswalkers and wizards to talk to.
Concerning Eilendor:  Eilendor is the central plane of the Multiverse, made up of three major land masses; Thedea, Athon, and the Northmark, and two oceans; Cerulean and Ulithian.  The major populace of my home plane are Men, my own race, orcs, goblins, dwarves, trolls, hodar, nellbril, and suarak.  The races of Eilendor live throughout all three continents, and the major islands; the Caldi Isles, Alvar, and Silad.  The most widespread race is probably men, with eight major kingdoms (Alvurea, Althor, Pirna and Than on Naldagor, Zurza and Morgoi on Intari, and Yazrell and Nendros on Elben.) with some smaller kingdoms and barbarian tribes here and there.  Also Silad is full of races around the world, in the city Pirateshaven, Alvar is inhabited by mostly orcs, trolls, and humans, and the Caldis are mostly human inhabited.
Famous Locations: Bator-Gotha: a massive city on Naldagor, built on the banks of the Naldor River.  Founded by the two legendary heroes Bator the Red and Gotha Brighthammer, Bator (the north section)-Gotha (the southern part) is home to people of every race of Eilendor, and some denizens of Lorria and Null, the slave market is big in Bator-Gotha, held up by the dark elves of Lorria, along with the black market and black magic market, housed in the backrooms and alleyways of Bator.  Bator-Gotha is not ruled by a king or council, but by the Ten Guilds claim and fight for power over Bator-Gotha.
The City of Fallen Heroes: a city built primarily of marble, no one knows who built it, but now the heroes and wanderers of Eilendor make their homes there.  The city is surrounded by an eighty foot high wall, with four gates, a north, south, east and west, and full of grand buildings and architecture, also it has a statue for every hero of Eilendor now past.

Kelnin goes to the natural world.

Kelnin, belonging to no house, was walking back to the very same people who had banished him.  Why?  To save all their lives, except for Nanlyr.  Kelnin twirled the elf-spear abut him as he walked along, whirling the razor-sharp blade expertly through the air, snipping off the wings of a passing by wasp.  Kelnin stopped, a wasp?  In Lorria?  He looked all around him, normal Lorrian forest, same magical glow to everything.  Kelnin shrugged, must have somehow wandered across the Sum Eternity.  He moved along through the forest, following the necromancer's trail of decay and animated corpses, decapitating the latter.

Nanlyr Maledon, great-great-great grandson of the mighty Shazien Maledon, an epic sylvari hero, rose from his leaf-covered bed, dressed in his best clothes; a white, gilded doublet, white, tight fitting pants, white robe-bottom, and boots, also his grandfather's ring, a pure gold talisman, with an onyx depicting a raven on it.  He checked himself in the mirror, he looked okay, so he headed for the door, and went down stairs.  He smoothed back his long, green-tinted brown hair, as he entered the great hall of his House, there was the House crest, a great tree within a dark orange circle surrounded by forest green, and there was the great oak table where the rest of his house sat, ready to eat breakfast.  He walked down the table to his chair, as he went he greeted his family, up to eight generations of elves sat at that table, none looked older than twenty-five.  Then his eyes fell upon his betrothed, Lynia, even though she was not part of the House Maledon, she had been taken in after her house was killed by drow and fomorians.  Nanlyr looked at her, still sad-eyed, and dismal look, she had looked like this ever since Kelnin Caswentelel had been banished, his house was still very ashamed of his exile.  When Nalyr sat down, his father, Hanir, rose and gave thanks to Caswen for the families well being and the bountiful breakfast, after that everyone filled their plates with berries and bread, the usual elf diet.  As Nanlyr sat next his fiance, his thoughts turned to Kelnin,his old "friend", who he had banished wrongly for a couple of reasons.  First being Lynia, who had formally been betrothed to Kelnin, second had been that Kelnin was going to chosen as the next Athnir, a very high, prestigious position in elf society, but now Nanlyr was to be chosen today, hence the fancy dress-up, third, he had always been jealous of Kelnin for being a wizard, so he decided get him banished, he smirked inwardly thinking of Kelnin and his poor situation.  After breakfast Nanlyr washed his face, smoothed back his hair again,flattened out his doublet, then went to the temple.  The temple was a great marble structure, with an ancient yew tree outside in the courtyard, he venerated the yew tree, it being a sign of the presence of Caswen.  A priestess greeted him and lead him to the high priestess, who sat in the garden, talking to some birds (all animals in Lorria can talk).  She looked up at Nanlyr;
"You will be pleased to know, Nanlyr of House Maledon, that you have been chosen as Athnir."  Nanlyr smiled, he deserved it of course.  "But now this, your friend shall return, during the light of the Faerie Aurora, and he will take everything from you, especially the one you love."  Nanlyr turned pale.
"What?  No, Kelnin was banished!  You banished him yourself."

There was definitely something different about the forest, less magic.  Kelnin thought as he cautiously walked along the path, then he came out of the woods and saw the sprawling Faelir Forest, home to the Fayland sylvari, and a central part of the ancient high elf kingdom.  He took step forward, he thought he could see the necromancer nearing the trees, then it was all gone, for suddenly Kelnin was surrounded by a swirling blue mess, then he reappeared exactly where he had been, or was it?  No magical glow to anything, but there it was, Faelir Forest half a mile away.  He went to the nearest bird to ask directions, it only twittered at him like an idiot, then it hit him, he must have crossed over into the natural realm, it was getting close to Midsummer.

The Beginning age.

Long ago, when there was nothing, only the Father God and his dwelling, the High Place.  The Father God, or Elnnuwin, in Elven, looked across the blackness, and as was his creating nature, with a word created light.  He took this light and shaped it into beings, called anruvali in the elf tongue.  Elnnuwin started to chant and sing, and things took place and form, and seeing their God sing and chant, the anruvali also started to chant.  But one, called Aralvras, decided he wanted to alter certain things in the Creation, he wanted more for himself, and he told other anruvali and asked them to join him, and some did.  Elnnuwin saw this in Aralvras's heart, and Aralvras was ashamed, so he was cast out of the High Place and dwelt in the Nether Place with the rest of the anruvalli who had followed him, now called dunruvali.  The Father God commanded earth to form, water to rise, the sky to be set down over the earth, then he brought into life all kinds of creatures, and he divided them into two groups, one group stayed in the natural world, and the other group He put in the other world, the Dreamworld.  After He had created the beasts of the land, sea, and air, Elnnuwin commanded sentient life to come about, life in His own image; elves, dwarves, gnomes, men, and all manor of creatures came into life, and lived in the happiness of their God, and the Father God saw it was meet.  But Aral and his devils saw this and were jealous, so Aralvras went to men, Ardan and his kin, and told him to take of a certain sustenance that they had been told not to partake of by Elnnuwin.  But Ardan and his brethren was curious about the sustenance, so they partook, and instantly, the world was not the same, and the Father God came walking among the peoples He had created, and he asked the men what was wrong.  Ardan had hid himself from his God, but he went, shamefaced, and told Elnnuwin what had taken place, so the Father God turned to his kin and asked if this was true, they said it was, and the God turned also to the serpent devil, Aralvras, and cursed him, saying men and the followers of Aralvras would always be enemies, and that the final fall of Aralvras's power would be caused by a man, then the Father God said to men that they had turned away from their God, and partaken of something that was not meant for them, so they, and all Creation would follow them to and cross the Rivers, to the mortal realms.  And when the races crossed the Rivers, they changed, they knew death, and hunger, and thirst, and pain, and the devils of Hell rejoiced at their agony, and their aging and dying, but Elnnuwin used death as a way to come closer to Him, and the devils were upset at this.

Elves, and their kingdoms.

Elves are the most common fey, though there are different types of elves, many common people have varied ideas about elves.  But in truth there are eldritch elves (kalvari), night elves (nyaari), dark elves (drow), light elves (Lojari), and wood elves (sylvari).  Once, long ago, there was a single elfin race, high elves, or hiryali, but after the first scihsm, there was drow and hiryali, then kalvari split of from the drow, then sylvari were the forest loving hiryali, and nyaari are a subrace of sylvari.
Delvair: is the sylvari kingdom, located on the continent of Intari, on Eilendor.  Delvair is rulled by a king, or queen, who rule for usually close to a century, depending on the populaurity of the ruler.  The capital of Delvair is Eulnira, an ancient city built in the glade elves first appeared in, Eulnira is a city known for it's Great Library, the Silver Tower, and the Guild of the Deer-Knights.  The sylvari of Delvair are expert trackers and rangers, and the legendary enderian, the weilders of the enderi elf-spear. Elf males and females are of about the same height, 5' 3" to 6' 0", and weigh 118 to 135 l.b., they have blond to dark brown hair, but never really black or red hair, and green, blue, golden, or violet eyes, but not black or brown, and have fair skin.  Sylvari speak Elven.  A notable sylvari is Shazien Rijite, a very long lived elf warrior.
Faelir: the original sylvari kingdom, Faelir is located to the west of Alsthrinyulner.  The main part of Faelir is in Faelir forest, and the capital, Illera, is in the glade where the elves first settled.  Sylvari of Faelir are hardly any different from the Delvair elves.  They speak Elven.
Alsthrinyulner: the kingdom of twilight, located on the western border of the Avwan mountains in Lorria.  The nyaari have fair skin, silver, dark blue, or black eyes, and silver, black or midnight blue hair.  Alsthrinyulner is ruled by a Highstar, or Luistellir in Elven, from the city Nyavellrenn, or Night's Den, and there is also a lesser council, the Moon Council, Alsthrindaun.  Night elves are 5' 3" to 5' 8", and 118 to 130 lb, male nyaari main role in night elf society, besides the usual, mundane occupations, are Dusks, magical warriors, and Twilights, magical rangers, and they often watch the drow borders, while females, again, besides the usual, are Dawns, magical scouts and spies.  Nyaari speak Elven.  A notable nyaari is Alden Quellnen, an acomplished ranger.
Cho: the dark kingdom, home of the drow, located underground just east of the Avwan mountains.  Cho is a highly male-domonint society, female drow are treated like slaves, and marrige in dark elf soceity would be like a master marrying a slave, so it is unheared of.  Cho is ruled by a king, who has a grand palace in the capital, Mazzbalzeren, and the king rules as a dictator, no one questions the king, and he rules with an iron fist, also his reign lasts as long as the king lives, which can be centuries to millenia, but many often get assassinated by the leading houses of Cho.  Drow males are 5' 6" to 6' 1" in height, and 118 to 135 in pounds, and females are 5'3" to 5' 6" and 114 to 125 in weight, all dark elves have red, infrared, eyes and stark white hair.  Drow hate their kin, sylvari and nyaari, so much that when they see them, they go into half-aware rages, and try to kill sylvari and nyaari on sight.  Dark elves speak Dark elven.  A notable drow is Zenzarinda, a female dark elf sorceress who ran away from drow society.
Kalnara: the eldritch empire, kingdom of the kalvari, located northeast of Cho.  The eldritch elves are dark purple-skinned fey, who live on the surface, continually waging war on the nyaari borders, and search for the ruins of the high elf city, Hirallyra, they think it holds a secret weapon.  Kalvari are ruled by a single monarch, of either sex, that acts mostly as supreme general, since kalvari have little care for domestic lives, the capital is the great walled city, Kelvia.  Kalvari males are 5' 6" to about 6' 2", and weigh 120 to 140 lb, whiule females are 5' 2" to 5' 6", and 118 to 125 pounds, the eldritch elves' hair comes in a vairity of shades of gray; dark purple, almost black, skin; and human colors of eyes.  Kalvari hate all other races, except possibly drow, who they only dislike, drow will trade with fomorians, shadelings, rakshasa, and gray dwarves, but kalvari do not trade, or even keep slaves like drow, so kalvari prisoners usually end up on spikes outside Kelvia.  Kalvari speak Dark elven.  A notable kalvari is Mizar, a male wizard, who slaughtered the most sylvari and nyaari on record, at the Battle of Farfold.
Gray elves (Amzari):  Amzari are exiled sylvari and nyaari, drow and kalvari do not practice amzari punishment.  The way an elf becomes a gray elf is that they are banished, but before they leave Cawen puts a curse on the exile through a high priestess* so that the elf's skin slowly turns gray, his hair turns coal black, and he loses the elfin innate abilities.  But Caswen is a merciful goddess, and allows any gray elf to walk the Path of the Hiryali.  Elves may be banished for such things as thievery, idoletry, and adultery (though it happens in Delvair so rarely, about every few centuries), but not turned into gray elves, things like black magic, murder, and conspiring with drow and other evil elves, will get you turned into a gray elf.  A notable gray elf is Kelnin No-house, a male wizard who's current where abouts are unknown.

* Only female sylvari and nyaari are allowed to be clergy, since Caswen is a goddess, drow worship Lurr, god of shadow, poison, and bats.

Kelnin makes a choice.

The stars watched a lone figure walk along a dark and lonely path, they whispered to each other in the darkness about this drifter, about his growing importance, which was written in the stars themselves.  Kelnin wrapped himself tighter in his cloak, oblivious to the stars and moon, only having thoughts for how cold it was and that he was hungry and tired.  He longed for a nice warm fire, a hot meal, and a nice, soft bed.  But life can be cruel, so Kelnin trudged on through the black night, until he finally came to a wayside inn.  Kelnin stumbled through the doorway, and came to the bar, where he asked for a room, and a meal.  The innkeeper asked for 25 silver coins, Kelnin dug through his pockets, but only found three copper pieces, so he slept in the stable that night, without a meal.  So the gray elf took a scoop of horse mash, focus his tired will on it, and turned it into mediocre oatmeal, with berries, and turned the horse water into wine, then after eating and drinking, Kelnin passed out.  He awoke in the morning to find a horse nuzzled beside him, he reached out and put his hand on the horse and tried to feel the life energy of the animal, he could not.  Kelnin got up, donned his leather armor, finished the last of the oatmeal and wine, then stole the horse, and some steak for the road.  A few hours later, as Kelnin was speeding along a hilly path, he was about to go left, but a group of bugbear brigands came up behind him, Kelnin prepared a few spells.  The bugbears surrounded Kelnin, forcing him to stop, then they commanded him to dismount, Kelnin did so, but as he hit the ground, he grabbed the nearest brigands spear and drove the butt of it through the bugbear's skull.  Kelnin then spun rocks around him, knocking the bugbears to the ground, he then picked back up the spear and skewered three bugbears on it.  One of the muggers ran up to Kelnin and cut him with a knife, the elf snarled in pain, then took the knife from his attacker and jammed it in it's throat, he then lanced lightning around the bugbears, killing many of them.  One of them drew a rusty and battered sword, Kelnin quickly mounted his steed and flew down the path to the right, away from the bugbears.  Kelnin kept riding until he came to an elf city, called Athuri, Kelnin had seen it often in his former life, his cousins lived here, and had a manor-house.  The elf rode to his relatives' house, seeing no sign of life.  He rounded a corner and saw his cousins' house, it looked the same, but something was wrong, he saw broken windows, and the gardens were dead.  He ran to the door, which hung of it's hinges, and he went to the great hall, littered with the bodies of his kin, he saw his beloved cousin, Luelen, lying lifeless on the floor.  Kelnin's eyes welled with tears, the necromancer had gone to far, Kelnin went to a rack of weapons, took a two-tipped spear, an enderi, went out to his horse, eyes filled with tears, and rode in the direction of Faelir Forest, to face this necromancer.
